I went to an American Composers’ Orchestra concert last weekend, which had a swanky after party hosted by Louis Vuitton. Instead of giving us goody bags made of the LV monogram, they gave out little treats like brownies and macaroons. WTF, right?
Well, I took the brownie to work to munch on and I have to say, it was pretty damn good. The outer edge gave a little resistance to a soft dense chocolate brownie. It was just what I needed to keep going. Of course, the best brownies are the raspberry jam ones I used to make with Sophear in undergrad.
Macaroons that came in the bag, though, from MacarOn cafe on 161st and 36th were delicious. I ate Ryan’s before I could product a picture of it. Just gobbled it up! They looked way too precious, but too good not to eat. I did decorate the apartment with them for a couple of days, but couldn’t stand it anymore and ate Ryan’s purple Macaroon. That was creamy, light, and “coconutty.” Really delightful. The second one pictured above was a lemon meringue, which was also light and creamy and absolutely delightful. Mmm. I will definitely be paying that place a visit!
