non-cooking week

Lige sent us the pictures on the left. Not exactly the best pictures, but it shows us doing what we love to do best. You know, getting our mouths all greasy eating brunch with a bunch of fries. Fun times. Seriously, though, this week is a slow week for good eating and a fast week for everything else. Two concerts (3 if you count last Sunday or this Sunday), one dinner date, and an evening of fixing myself some slaw (cabbage with salt and apple vinegar – I kid you not, it’s pretty good) for dinner. That, salad, and some cold cuts wrapped with lettuce.

We did manage to go grocery shopping on Tuesday, and I made some Japanese curry. Of course Trader Joes’ didn’t have any carrots and we didn’t think ahead enough to buy any meat. In the end, I ended up making awesome curry out of chorizo in the fridge, tons of onions, garlic, ginger, potatoes, and spring chives. Seriously. I simmered spicy chorizo in curry and it was delicious. If it works in soups, there is no reason for it not to work in curry.

Of course, there is no picture of this curry… since we were too busy eating, finishing, and polishing our plates off. We’re savages. So, you’ll have to take my word for it. I had some curry over soba noodles, and I made some rice for Ryan to eat his with. Delicious. (I would have prefered udon noodles, but we were out.)

Tonight is another evening of going out. As long as I don’t end up at the end of the evening at Papaya Dog, I think I’m good.
