Burgers for Lunch!

First, I keep meaning to mention this, but I passed my 100th post mark. It was around 13 entries ago. I believe it was my sick post, when I was working from home and eating a breakfast of matsutake rice and green curry. That’s silly and a little blasphemous. (Coincidentally, my mother told me the matsutake cost like $90 a pound. Geez.) I would rather it go to one of my projects, but oh well!

You might have noticed due to the lack of entries here, but it’s been pretty hectic at work last week. MJ and I promised ourselves that we would give ourselves a treat at the end of the week. Unfortunately, Friday was the day of my big 202 Supper Club Dinner (which I will talk about after this), so I couldn’t indulge in the Live Event Team’s Curry Friday fiasco, or burgers at a pub like we originally planned. However, we went to this place near my work called, Zaitzeff, a cute corner shop with picnic tables and burgers. Kobe beef burgers at that.

They had sliders, burgers, and salads. What more do you want? MJ and I decided to share a 1/4 pound sirloin burger and a mixed green salad. Next time, though, I will be ordering the Kobe beef burgers.

The greens were fresh, nicely dressed and tossed. The burgers were savory, cooked VERY well (still pink inside and very juicy), and the bread was delicious buttery flat burger bread. I mean, this was definitely a gourmet burger. The salad was around $5 and the burgers were all under $10. If I had known this place existed, I would have been here earlier.

This place doesn’t top Le Parker Meridien’s Burger Joint or Belgian restaurant Resto, but it’s good to know that there is a delicious place to get my burger fix downtown in the financial district, near work.

Another plus is that they had Rogue brews. ; ) Love it.
